Collaborative Designs Ltd is a Swansea based architect's practice that specialises in completing DDA focused access audits.
Why you need an access audit - the carrot
If your buildings are not accessible then you are missing out on valuable customers or clients. There are 8.7 million disabled people in the UK - that is one in six people. Get 'access' right and your organisation becomes more efficient and responsive to the people that matter.
Why you need an access audit - the stick
From October 2004 owners of public access buildings will have a legal duty under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) to ensure they have taken reasonable steps to remove physical access barriers. Is your organisation ready? Have you completed a full audit of all the spaces the public will use? If not, why don't you contact us for a free quote to undertake a full access audit.
What is an access audit
An access audit is simply a route map to making a building accessible. What you want to know is where there are access barriers and what needs to be done to remove them. We provide this information to you in a logical, methodical report which links the access barriers to the specific standards that need to be met to make the building accessible.
To do this we will:- prepare floor plans;
- carry out an on-site inspection;
- create a photographic record;
- ascertain dimensional compliance with reference to set standards;
- prepare a report including recommending solutions for the removal of specified barriers.
Why choose Collaborative Designs
